The Rt. Hon.
Sir Kingsley Wood, M.P.
Dear Sir,
1
Commal offic

In view of the most unfair way that the evacuation scheme of this Colony was put into force I most respectfully request that you will be kind enough to put the following questions to the House at the earliest opportunity.
1. What was the reason for the compulsory evacuation from Hong Kong of European women and children?
2. Why were so many wives and families of Senior Government Officials allowed to remain in the Colony?
3.
Why was the whole evacuation scheme cancelled in Ottober, 1940, yet the women and children sent away were not allowed to return?
4.
Why was so much discrimination shown in dealing with applic- ations for exemption from evacuation?
It is the intention of the married men of this Colony (who have been separated from their wives and families and who have now to' support two homes) to ask the various Members of Parliament the se questions. Being an old West Woolwich member I should be glad if you will do your utmost to go into the matter of the evacuation scheme of this Colony and bring to the light to the Members of the House the very unjust way in which the whole scheme has been carried out in Hong Kong,

I am,
Sir,
Yours faithfully,
ACollinson (COLLINSON)
Civilian Foreman.
